Hi,
I have a graph from data I'm trying to build from Excel. One is a series of transistors, so the numbers go from 280 to 37,000,000,000. This makes my Y axis show 0 to 37,000,000 as the range. It is over the X axis which is number of years, 1965 to 2019. This part is ok.
BUT, I want to show a second series (I'm using a line chart) that has a value on the same time line, but ranging in value (Y axis) from 0 to 500. When I put these together, it makes my bottom line "Flat" compared to the big values of the transistors. How can I create a comparison where the two Y axis scales are different, but I want to show the relationship of those two lines within their increase to each other?

Best Regards,
Scott

Oh, I'm using Excel 2010, just to be clear.
Thanks.

Hi,

You ought to look at 1) two differernt axes for your two series and 2) using a logrimithic scale for the first series.

Skip,
Got it! Feeling stupid, but this is the first time I've done it in 2010 and it's a little different. Didn't notice the 2nd Axis issue until I looked at the "Design" tab that only magically appears once you've clicked on the graph area.
Thanks!

Best Regards,
Scott

Excel 2007 uses context sensative tabs. When you have selected a chart, pivot table, table, print headings/footers etc, a set of related tabs pop up in the ribbon. NEAT!
