Basically I have an Excel spread sheet with 2 vehicles on it, each with gas fill-ups and milage 'n stuff.

I want to make a line graph with 2 lines, I want to tell the chart to use data rane a4:end (currently k87, it'll be k something) and to sort by the a column (vehicle type, either Montana or Escort) then draw one line graph for the montana and the other for the escort.

I know of many ways to manually do it, but there has to be an encompassing entry for the "Source Data" field that will do this sort and graph.

Thanks,

in the source data - values

Can you put any type of calculations in there? If not I may have to make a couple of hidden sheets and add the data there. I was hoping this would coem together so I can take a single sheet and graph it many different ways.

Thanks,

Well...

Have you tried, in the Wizard to switch from rows to columns or vice-versa?

Have you right-clicked the chart and hit Source data and made sure that SeriesA (or whatever name) is actually the data on one car, and SeriesB is the data for the second car?

When you use the wizard, do you include ONE cell for each car's name? (Use the control key to select non-contiguous ranges)

I'll take a look at your file if you like. Email addie is below. Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word
