Excel freezing when trying to print

Hi,

I have a workstaion that freezes when you try to print in excel. You can work fine apart from whenever you go to print a worksheet, the program freezes with the hourglass on the screen. OS is NT4 and its Excel 97.

Could be lots of different things. Check first that your spreadsheet isn't so big it's simply taking forever to print. Second, hit Ctrl + Alt + Del, and select Task Manager, then have a look at things like memory and processor use: if it's hitting the roof it could be that your workstation is spec'd too low for the version of Excel you're running, etc. etc.

Check also what tasks are actually running on your PC other than Excel - if you're running at high resource use anyway, it could be that there are stray processes running which are slowing down your machine. Another obvious step is to check that your printer is properly connected, and that you have the correct drivers installed.

Could also be a DLL conflict. Check the following article to find out whether you have the right DLLs installed:
