I apologize if this is in the wrong forum and please tell me if it is...

I am wondering if there is an easy way to create a formula in excel that takes the contents of an existing cell and removes all dashes "_" from the text and leaves the result in that cell where the formula resides?

thanks

hi,

This is an UNDERSCORE and not a DASH.

If your text is in A1...
[tt]
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"_","")
[/tt]

Skip,

[glasses]Just traded in my old subtlety...
for a NUANCE![tongue]

Skip, thanks for that tip. I've never heard of that one, but love it already!
