I have a spreadsheet that has one column set to date format so that the date 2003 - 07 - 05 shows up in the formula bar, but the cell still shows a number. I checked to see if the column was locked under "format calls". It wasn't, and the date format I want is selected.

Thanks,
Mike

clcik on cell, go to format cell, click on custom,

put yyyy - mm - dd

click OK.

See if that works for you

Are you getting this sheet from someone else that is running a different OS than you? If so this could be part of the problem. Just curious.
