Hello,

Is it normal that I cannot use the Find function in Excel 2000 when the autofilter is on or can I go to my boss and ask for a non-clockwork PC?

Thanks,

SO

Can you elaborate on exactly what it doesn't find? I seem to have no problem using find on filtered data using XL2000.

If what you are looking for is not in the filtered list of data, it will give you a "cannot find" message but that is perfectly normal - you get the same issue if you manually hide the rows of data

LOL - That just makes too much sense Geoff :) I'm sat there thinking that of course that can't be what is being attempted because why would you expect to find data in a range when you have filtered it out, so surely it must actually be there and the OP is not finding it for some reason. But of course I should have realised..........

Thanks for your help. I have got a new computer and everything seems to be working fine now which is good. I guess the old one just couldn't cope.

Cheers

LOL - I'm betting you sabotaged the machine just so you could get a new one. :)
