Used to be able to put a filter on an excel file and in the bottom of the screen it would show the count of filtered records. Now neither on mine or my coworker's computer can we get a filter count. We are using XP and Excel 2003 SP3.

Hi,

Right-Click in the lower window border and select COUNT.

Select the CELLS/COLUMN you wnat to count.

Observe the COUNT in the lower window border as Count=n

Thanks Skip, that provides the count. However, before we didn't need to highlight the range in order to see the filtered count, it would show up automatically something like "81 rows filtered".

Tools > Options > Calculation TAB - Calculation MANUAL

Thanks Skip that worked. I don't recall playing with the setting before, when creating a spreadsheet, use the defaults excel provides -- File, New, Paste data, filter it.
