I am using CR XI Enterprise. I have uploaded an excel file to the Enterprise server. Can I use this file as a dataource for an Enterprise Report?

To further add to this, I have read a lot of threads on using excel as a datasource in general is frowned upon by most. I work in a very large company and getting permission to write to a SQL server takes divine intervention but yet they let us fill up huge amounts of space with way too much excel junk. The reason for uploading the excel file to the server is it gives me a location the BOXI has access to. Getting a folder on a network drive that I can get access for BOXI or the intended users will take forever. This would be a faster solution.

Sorry, it doesn't work the way you anticipated.

Loading an Excel into the BOE-XI repository DOES NOT make it available as a datasource for a WebIntelligence or Crystal Report hosted in the BOE-XI repository.
