EXCEL FILE NAME CHANGES TO RANDOM NUMBERS

Hello Everyone,
I have an excel file thet once in a whiile saves itself under series of numbers and not the original file name and it's excel extension goes away and the icon changes just to a file and not an excel file however you can open it with excel and you change the name back to the original name the size changes so I have no clue what is happening.
Please Help
