When users save their large excel files to netware volume the files become corrupt.
We are using netware 4.11 workstation are win2k excel 97 and 2000

I found a fix refering to win95 and client 3.02 on the novell site but this does not seem to apply

Thanks for any help

I've seen the same problem on a netware 4.11 server, turned out to be a dodgy network card. Try changing the card in the clients, then if that doesn't work, try changing the one on the server. Make sure all the other physical network components are good too. Hope this helps.

What version of the NetWare Client are you running?

Until yesterday the client was 4.83 I upgraded one of the users who is having the problem yesterday afternoon to sp1 to see if that made any difference (awaiting response)

There are about 200 users on this server and most are unaffected by this problem I have tried flushing and rebooting the routers as at firs I thought it was a comms problem - no improvement!

Thanks for the suggestion

Sorry, forgot to ask the Service Pack level of your server as well.

Try applying service pack 2 of Office 97 and upgrading novell client to 4.83 sp1. Also you can try removing & recreating user's profile on that particular pc. This should solve the problem.

Great idea!!!

I had tried the service pack and the client upgrade but I did not think of recreating the users profile
That seems to work So far so good

Thanks again!
