EXCEL FILE AS CRYSTAL DATASOURCE

I am attempting to configure an Excel Spreadsheet as an ODBC source to use in CRYSTAL. What's the best way to do this ?
I am running into problems no matter what method I use.

I have done this several times, just create a new DSN in control panel and use the microsoft excel ODBC driver. What kind of problems are you experiencing? Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

I just created a new FILE DSN ODBC connection using the
microsoft excel ODBC driver and pointing it to a spreadhseet which I know has data.
When I attempt to use it in Crystal, the treeview has
the message "no entries found" where I am expecting the
field list to select from ?
