Hi,

Would anyone know why hitting the f2 fuction on a cell would take around 20 seconds to display the formula in the requested cell?

Excel displays the formula in the formula bar instantly, but if you hit f2, Excel takes around 20 seconds to display the formula in the chosen cell, any ideas let me know,

Thx

what version of excel and what else do you have on the sheet? formulae? code?

much more description please

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

If you are tring to show the formula in the cell press ctrl + ` at the same time. This is the command that I know will display it till you repeat the step. It also might be the length of your formuula. It might be very long.

I would suggest the following:

Check if it happens on all worksheets.
If it does - it has to do something with your windows, not the excel.

Maybe you have other processes running in the background that are interfering with the F2 function. (does the other F^ functions act so slow too?)
