Excel Export - Lock Logo ?

I have the company logo at as an OLE object in the report header of many reports. The boss is asking me to "Lock" the logo so that when exported to Excel, a recipient of the report cannot delete the logo. ( and slap his own into the report.)

I told him I didn't think this was possible and the only solutions would be to use .pdf or have someone manually lock/protect the logo in Excel after the export.


Is it possible to lock a logo in Crystal (or insert one in a different manner) so that when exported to Excel, it cannot be deleted in Excel ?

Hi,

You can PROTECT a sheet with the appropriate parameters, that can prevent deleting anything on the sheet.

Can you please elaborate ?

Just to be clear, I'm trying to accomplish this in Crystal XI not Excel. I'm not aware of PROTECT in CR.

It can only be done in Excel.

allows you to automate the process of:
1. inserting Crystal reports data into an excel document acting as a template
2. saving the resulting file to a new dynamically named workbook
3. protecting the workbook
4. emailing the workbook to recipients dynamically controlled via Crystal formulas.

hmm..I wonder which 3rd party software that might be ? ;-)

I know the boss likes the 'Visual' of the logo in an .xls, but doesn't want a recipient to be able to 'Cut' it from the report.

I will let the bossman know of this option as well.
