I a trying to export the result of a report to Excel but keep getting blank rows in between each records. there is no extra space above or below the field in the report. how do I eliminate these blank rows? thanks in advance for your help.

There's a possibility that not all the fields in the row are the same height. Set two guidelines in the vertical ruler on the left; one at the top of the details row, and one at the bottom. Adjust all your fields to align with these new guidelines.

Shrink up the details section so there's no space above the top guideline, or below the bottom one.

Now re-export.

NB: Because you've not said what Excel export you're using, driver version, or Crystal version, I'm making the assumption that you're exporting with Crystal 8 or higher to an extended Excel export. If the solution doesn't work for you, or these assumptions are incorrect, please let us know these details.

As Naith says, you may have an old version. For Crystal 8.5, Excel should be MS Excel 97-2000. I had a lot of trouble with blank lines before we upgraded.

In crystal 9:
You can get an extra row if the height of the fields is large for the font size.

You can also get an extra row if some of the fields are set to "can grow". These tend to show up as skinny little blank rows.. really frustrating to figure that one out.
