I have an excel shared file on the network accessed for 70 people at least three days per week.
The file is being posted for 4 weeks and it contains 5 macros. At the third week one user had the error message:
"EXCEL.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created"
Then it just gives you an OK option. It does not have a help option like other errors.
After the first peron with the message we got other 6 people with the same problem.
I try to look for the error log and it is not registered afterwords.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I would guess that the file has become corrupted.
See if a backup does the same (assuming that it is a clean one). Get lots of similar probs here. Regards

If you are running Windows 2000 you will find the error log in the users folder under "Documents and Settings".

Sometimes it is found in the "All Users\Documents\DrWatson" folder. The simplest approach may be to look for the file "drwtsn32.log". That is the file that is generated.

Once you find that log file you can find the entry for the last error (it will be dateded in the log) and read the results.

When you read it, you will be more confused that you are now since it must be written in another language :). I know that stuff means something to someone but I have yet to find them.

Good Luck and Happy New Year.
