Source file is created using the following:
OS: XP PRO Sp3 - all updates completed
Office 2003 - all updates completed
Toad for DA is being launched by the windows scheduler and creating a file on the network.
The file is being opened by (Managers Laptop):
OS: Win7 - all updates completed
Office 2010 - all updates completed
It generates the "Excel found unreadable content in " file name" Do you want to recover the contents of the workbook?
I click on "Yes"....it recovers but the date formatting in the file is gone. It just has the numbers that are the dates.
I can open the file on my laptop running XPPro with office 2007 and it's just fine. I had another user using office 2007 and it works fine. I had another user using office 2010 and it worked fine.
this leads me to think it something on the managers laptop. This is the only file he has problems with.
There are no pivot tables in the file. It is basically just an output of a query.
the research I have found talks about changing the permission to read-only but that is not a viable option with TOAD generating the file...
Any help would be appreciated
