I have a spreadsheet with column headers through column R. The data may or may not go to column R depending on the row. When I try to save the file as a tab delimited or a .csv it drops all the traling tabs or commas starting on line 17. The previous 16 all have the correct number of tabs. Any ideas what would be causing this?

Put something in the last cell. Bottom right of the range. CTRL/End will get you to the last cell.

I would prefer not to do that, as I am importing this list into a database, and don't want to open the list again to remove the added text. I will do this many times per day, so I would like it to work without having to do that.

Is this a feature in excel? I don't remember this ever happening before.

If you are importing into a database, then why the need for trailing delimiters? Your db is perchance intelligent enough to know the start of a new record regardless of delimiters.

No, the db is very old and not intelligent enough. The columns much match exactly.
