We have recently begun using Microsoft Report Builder 3.0. When we export reports to Excel and wish to further manipulate data, it is not working out well. We cannot do a data sort/data subtotal as we could if the data were originally entered into Excel. What steps must be taken to get the data to behave as though it were natively entered directly into Excel instead of being exported there.

hi,

Chances are the VALUES are STRING.

In an empty cell, enter a 1.

COPY this cell.

Select ALL the data in the imported table that should be numeric, including dates.

Edit > PasteSpecial - MULTIPLY

Your numeric data will now be actually numeric.
