Excel - Date Warrings for User

Is there a formula where a User is prompted with a some form of warring as to when a the due date arrives.

I am trying to get the Cell to change its colour When there is just 3 months left to when the due date arrives. And once it get a new date inputted it reverts back to its original colour (White).

Take a look at Format/Conditional Formatting.

You can make the font, pattern and/or border change on a given criteria.

CF will show a format change upon a set condition(s), but Data Validation will give you popup messages (and block input if you want) upon a set condition(s) (found in the Data menu | Validation).
