I have two fields - one with a Date in (A) and one with a Name in (B).

I'm trying to link them in another field using the following formula =A1&" "&B1

But this returns the numerical value for the date.

Thus for Example If I have

01-Oct-06 in A1
DAN in B1

Then =A1&" "&B1 typed into C1 returns: 38991 DAN
I want to return: 01-Oct-06 DAN

Does anyone know what formula I need round the date to keep it formatting correct ??

Thanks for any help

Dan

Hi,

Dates are really just NUMBERS like 38991. They get FORMATTED to display any number of ways.
[tt]
=TEXT(A1,"dd-mmm-yy")&" "&B1
[/tt]
