I have a customer using Excel 97...this customer says that the files have 'reverted' to files saved over a year ago. Same file names and with new dates of June 26, 2001 but there is no data in the files newer than March of 2000.
They have been using the same files for over a year at least and have added data daily and until the last couple of days they were fine. Is it possible for Excel to do this? Or could it be someone is simply trying to cover for a mistake?

First, make sure you're not filtering the data. Someone could have set a filter to only show data prior to March 2000.
If this is not the case, time to go to the backups!
