Hi, I have to add some commentary to a set of figures covering 8 weeks of data for 4 business units, so I thought I would create a Line Chart to plot the results over time, and add Linear Trendlines to show visually the positive or negative trends rather than the 'saw tooth' view of the spot weeks going up and down, as per a picture paints a thousand works...

However I need a function to work out which of the 4 business units has the best trend, and which is the worse so that I can also auto-populate some Text and store the result for use in a reward framework.

So What would be my best approach?

Many thanks

Thanks for the tip, initially had my X and Y axis around the wrong way so the results didn't match the Linear trendlines :)

If you can create a trendline, you can have excel display the trendline on the graph. You can then use the formula to calculate the points on the trendline and determine if your values are above or below the trendline values.
