Hi there,

i've got a problem and im so close to making my sheet work, this hopefully is the last stumbling block.

I've conditional formatted my whole sheet in order to make it more automated and also linked every cell to other sheets and added the same vba from the master sheet to the others so they transfer the right stuff across......

..but the problem that i've got is that the cells in the other sheets only change colour once you've clicked on them.

Is there any way of making them change automatically so that once i change a number or letter in a cell of the master sheet, that, that corresponding cell in the other sheets change colour automatically without me having to go over to the other sheets and click on the cells that ive altered?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

Hi,

Take a look at Edit > Links... and update the links.

Other than that, you may also need to CALCULATE if Calculation is not Automatic.

Is your workbook set to manual calc?

Canadian eh! Check out the new social forum Tek-Tips in Canada.

Yes it must be set to manual as i've not entered any formula in the calculate section of the VBA.

Is there a code that i can enter in calculate that will make the cell update automatically?

I tried the edit > links thing but the "update links" button is unavailable.

Yes it must be set to manual as i've not entered any formula in the calculate section of the VBA.
Having code in the WorksheetCalculate event or not, has nothing to do with the necessity to have workbook calculation set to manual!

If calculation is st to manual, then YOU have to force a calculate in order to see these link values.

In the edit > links option the update is set to automatic.

which probably means that it updates the link from the other sheet as i've just used the basic formula of =(cell from the other sheet that i want it to match) so it brings in the letter or number that ive typed from the other sheet but i cant get the cell to match the conditional formatted colour unless i actually click on the cell and then it does it.

aplogies, but i've never attempted anything like this so im still trying to get my head around it.

Your help is greatly appreciated though.
