Hello everyone,
In Excel 2003 when you have comments on cells in an AutoFilter's heading row, they will not be displayed when the worksheet is protected.

The only way around this I have found is to allow 'Edit Objects' in the protection, which allows the comment to be editted (may not be desirable), or to instruct the user to right click and choose 'Show Comment' (not necessarily an intuitive solution).

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how you may get Excel to display cell comments automatically on filter heading rows, while protecting the worksheet?

Many thanks,
Steve

It's not a direct answer, but you could use two rows, the top one with comments, the bottom with autofilter. The gridline between can be masked after adding background colour (incl. white). The user follows red dot that is displayed in the upper cell.
