Excel commands

I need to use excel for importing and exporting specific data for my powerbuilder application. I know how to open and close an excel file. but does anyone have a complete list with all the excel command that I can use? and is it possible to search in an excel file for a specific word?

1.) how do you open and close that excel file?
if you use OLE, you can use all objects in the vba-structure, which means all the vba - commands, i don't know if excel-sheet-commands can be invoked to, that depends on your excel-version as far as i know.

2.) by searching in the excel file you mean searching the sheet's tables, right?

You can get a pretty good idea of the commands by accessing the help for VBA within Excel.
