I am looking for a formula that can be used in a column. Currenly, I have a column that the text is all uppercase. Is there a formula, that can change the the first letter of the word to uppercase & the rest of the word to be lowercase. Any help you can send me is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You can use the formula 'Proper' to do this.

Regards,

Ian

Let's say your word is in column A. Then in cell B1, you can type =PROPER(A1) and then copy it down column B to the same row as column A.
PROPER changes the first letter to caps and the rest of the word to lower case. It would change MR. JOHN SMITH to Mr. John Smith.

Try the function Proper (text) in the next column over where text is your all capital words. Then copy this formula all the way down the column. Now copy the formula column and paste special just the values right on top of the formula column or in another column. You should get what you want and then can delete the original column.

Thanks to all of you! That works! The proper worked great.
