Hi,

I'm trying to design a spread sheet where the column widths are not contiguous from top to bottom - column A1 to A10 would have a width of 10 and column A11-A20 would have a width of 15.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Happy New Year :-D

Make Col A width = 10. Make Col B width = 5.

Select a11:b20 and do:
Format|Cells|Merge cells

Hi brian4321,

Merged cells are generally best avoided but may suit your requirements, but if you do as John suggests you will get cells A11:B20 all merged into one. Instead, try merging just A11:B11 and then click on the cross at the bottom right of the merged cell and drag it down to A20:B20.

Alternatively, and better if it does what you want, would be to "Center across Selection" (under Format > Cells > Alignment > Horizontal).

Enjoy,
Tony
