Excel - Column Headings are Numbered Not Lettered 1

I received an Excel file today where the column headings are numbered instead of lettered. How can I change this back to letters for the column names?

Any suggestion would be most appreciated.

hi,

If vers 2007+ hit the OFFICE button and then the Excel Options button and then FORMULAS.

UNCHECK the R1C1 option.
