Hi

does anybody know how to do the following please or give me an idea on how to start.

I have a an Excel sheet with 3 columns.

Date Current Status Days Left

What I want to do is when a user enters a date the current status will go to e.g Build and the days left will go to 14.

As each day passes the Days Left will reduce until 0 then the next phase will change and the days left goes back to 10.

Can this be done

Many Thanks

Phil

Is "Date" the expected due date ???
if so, have a look at the TODAY function

Days left is then simply (Due Date - TODAY)

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

Thanks for that, how do I then change the status from "Build" to "Implement" as the days go from 14 to 0

Thanks

Phil

at what stage would it go to "implement" ??

whichever stage, you need to test the result of the formula with an IF statement

=if(DueDate - Today() > 10 , "Build","Implelemt")
