I want a chart similar in concept to:
Basically in excel I want to have (instead of a line) -- a wide line that I control with data -- the line varies in thickness according to data (much like Napoleon's army dwindles in size through the Russian invasion).

Anyone done anything similar?

hi,

You could achieve that appearance with a STACKED AREA chart where the lower series fill is EMPTY and the upper fill is visible. The DIFFERENCE between series 1 & series 2 controlls the thickness of the display (line if you will).

Oh -- very cool idea. That sounds like it will work.

Thanks.

...or you could use Chart Events to change the Volumn Control according to the mouse pointer, whist playing "Yankee Doodle" or something. ;-)

Hey hey now -- what you do in the privacy of your own cubicle is your business, but this is real, valuable data I need to show...not some kind of crazy dog and pony show.

Well I had to take a crazee shot! ;-)

Glad I could help and thanx for the little purple star.
