I need a chart that shows:
y axis - hourly wages
x axis - year/quarter (2000Q3 to 2004Q2)

line graph with wages by year/qtr in combination with an
area graph for dates of recesssion (2000Q3 to 2003Q3)to demonstrate the difference between wages before and after the recession dates. (note: i have tried using the excel charting wizard for combination charts. these assume values for both charts.)

Hi,

In the chart, select the SERIES that you want to be a different chart type.

Chart/Chart Type - select the type you want.

If you need that series plotted on a secondary axis, select the series again.

Format/Selected data series - Axis tab - secondary axis option button.
