Hi,

Is it possible to present a column chart in Excel where one of the values crosses the X axis, instead of starting from 0?

For example, I have a count of a number of items in the office, pens, pencils, etc. and there and 10 pens. Ordinarily Excel would show a column of 10 starting at 0 and going up to +10. However, I want to show the column of 10 starting at -6 and going to +4.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Format your Y axis* to a minimum of (say) -8 this will allow the bars to fall below the Zero line which will intersect somewhere in the middle of your range of -8 to +10

* Right click on the Axis and choose Format Axis

Sorry Walla07

misunderstood what you wanted.

Yes you can do it with a stacked bar graph but you'll need to add some calculated columns.

Assume you have a count of 10 in A1, B1 has a minimum of -6 and C1 is the formula A1+b1 (giving 4)

A stacked bar graph based on the values in B1:C1 will give you what you want to see.
