I am looking for some guidance &/or assistance in setting up an Access report with an excel chart in it. I can build the query quite easily, the chart wizard in access 2003 is less than adequate. If I insert an excel chart, I need to know where exactly to go to set up the rest. I have placed the SQL code in the rowsource and removed the rowsourcetype, as per Microsoft guidelines. The chart will not display the data or refresh.

Any clues?

Hi,

Please post an example of the source data and your query SQL.

You have places the SQL in the RowSource of the Chart, correct?

Skip,

[glasses] To be safe on the [red]FOURTH[/red],
Don't take a [red]FIFTH[/red] on the [red]THIRD[/red]
Or you might not come [red]FORTH[/red] on the [red]FIFTH[/red]
[red][highlight blue]FORTH[/highlight][/red][white][highlight red]WITH[/highlight][/white] [tongue]

I have included the database. the chart is on Report1. As you can see, it only shows the test data when previewed.

Thanks for looking into this for me.

the chart wizard in access 2003 is less than adequate". Interesting since it's the same Wizard as Excel.
If you build your chart in Excel, you can use the Unbound Object Frame control to place the chart where ever you want in the report. Just remember to change Size Mode option to Stretch.

Sorry, I've been extremely busy. I thought I had attached / posted the Db, obvously not. How do I post it?
