Question:

In excel I have a bar chart that has 3 bars that are stacked; under the bars I have a data table. I need to flip the data table's orientation, but keep the three bars that are stacked, how can I do this and make it part of the bar chart data table?

Example of what I need:

Currently:
Red Yellow Green
Expected 3 1 1
Proven 2 3 2

Would like the table to look like this under the bar chart:

Expected Proven
Red 3 2
Yellow 1 3
Green 1 2

Thanks,

You can change BOTH the chart and datatable by editing the chart - select Source Data - Data Range tab - switch between rows & columns.

Copy the data, move to where you would like it to go, RIGHT click the top left cell of the new position and select "Paste special". At the bottom, click on "Transpose" and click "OK"

koresnordic,

Using the transpose method did not work. if there is a way that I could post the example of what I need I will on here.

IMHO, the best that you can do, with a missmatch between the CHART and the DATA TABLE is to format the SOURCE DATA in the way you want the data table to look, FORGET the data table and display the SOURCE DATA & CHART.

darkhat01,

Your chart is a COLUMN chart. The OP specified a BAR chart.
