Excel-cell shows reference but no value. Why? 1

Hi!

Excel 2003
I have reference from a cell to a cell in another wotksheet (separate file).
The contensts of the cell shows:
='[FE 080924 BARI.xls]F01 Verkoop Pastas'!$C$8
The reference is correct.
Same might be made visble by ticking the menu tools-options-views-formulas.
After removing the checkmark still the reference is shown but not the value of that reference which should be eg 'Hello World'.
I tried formatting the cells but no results.
Any idea?

Hi,

The cell might be formatted as TEXT.

Change the format to GEENERAL and EDIT the cell.
