I cannot open an Excel Spreadsheet anymore, it contains macros, everytime I try I get an illegal operation:
Excel caused an invalid page fault in module Excel.exe at 0187:3005c673

Any ideas how I can open it??

It is Urgent it is a route sheeet we need on a daily basis

The document is on a WIndows 98 2nd edition machine
We use Office 2000.

Try setting the security level in Excel to low. What this will do is give you an option box when the file opens asking whether or not to enable the macroes. Tell it to disable them, then the file should open and give you a chance to debug the macroes.

I have this same problem. Unfortunately the security fix does not help; Excel crashed whether or not the macros were disabled. I had a different address though, but I suspect it's machine-dependent, since I get two different addresses on two different machines...

0137:3005c673 on one, and
0167:3005c673 on another.

And unfortunately, mine is a very urgent worksheet as well... Nothing on the Microsoft Knowledge Base that I can see...

I also use Office 2000 on Win 98SE; I'm going to try it on an ME computer, but I suspect it's not an OS-dependent problem.

I had to restore it from our backup tape, and since then we used the backup and had no problems.

corrupt spreadsheet, create a new workbook and copy over everything from the old one bit by bit

and you ll be grand

I'd love to copy over everything from the old sheet - if only I could open it. Any suggestions on how I could get at the sheets and modules in the corrupt worksheet to do the copying?

Thanks
