In excel 2003 I have a dataset of several hundred rows and 20 columns that is sorted on one of the columns in descending order. I have a combo box that allows me to make a selection and the dataset is then autofiltered based upon the listitem chosen in the combo box. This all works fine but here's my issue: I have a barchart above the dataset that uses the first 10 rows as the datasource and indicating the top 10 of my list. When I use the advanced filter macro it filters out rows that are not in my criteria list and therefore messes up my chart because rows that are in the first 10 of the graph datasource are filtered out. I need to see the top 10 in my list no matter which selection my enduser selects from the combo box How can i fix this?

Tools>Options>Charts untick plot visible cells only

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

And, in addition to Geoff's suggestion, set the series to the entire data range of rows.

I use this technique with a Spinner control to change the AutoFilter number or rows being displayed in my Paredo chart. Can start out with 10, and then the user can display more or fewer data points.

Skip,
