Excel: Anyone know how to merge 2 columns into 1?????

I've got two columns, both set as Text colums but when I attempt to merge them into one i get the error about the selection containing multiple values.

i've also tried setting the column type to general but still the same prob occurs. there is only text in these fields (the are first name and second name columns).

any help would help us no end

Hi,
You can the following formula which assumes your text is in Col A and Col B:
=A1&" "&B1

This will combine the two columns and put a space between both words.
