excel and word fault

Hi all

Can anyone tell me how to overcome this problem, I cant enter 1,2,3or 9,0 in word or excel, I have reinstalled Office 97, windows 98 and the sr1 and sr2 patches

What do you mean, you can't enter them? They don't appear? Nothing happens? Spaces appear?

Have you tried different fonts?
Have you tried different keyboard (unless it works okay elsewhere)?

when I press 1 etc nothing happens, but 4 to 8 works excel and word .
