Each Command Button I add to a spreadsheet, slows the opening and closing process down quite considerably.
Is there a setting somewhere that I should modifying?..as I cannot work out why this is happening.
Thanks

chkote,

This shouldn't effect your performance drastically unless you have a very large number of CommandButtons.

How many do you have?
Do they all have a lot of code behind them?

Please try to post as much info to help with this post.

I've used more than 100 command buttons in a workbook, with no ill effects. Has your workbook increased in size recently?

Glenn.

My apologies for the limited question.
What I should have added is, the WorkBook opens quite okay
on other PCs but not my own.
I can get this slow down effect by adding just a standard CommandButton(without any additional code) onto a blank spreadsheet.
It takes some time to save and when opening it comes up with
the standard "Enable Macros etc" Dialog , then after choosing "Enable" a completely white spreadsheet appears for some time before the real deal shows and even then the Hourglass Cursor takes time to return to the default.
Btw..am using 98 and Office 2000.
I have Nortons AV installed and have switched off the realtome protection.
Thanks

Found the answer.
Cleaned out C:\Windows\Temp and that did the trick
