Hello, I am having a problem connecting excel 97 and access 97. I am trying to create an excel spreadsheet that will calculate some figures. However, my data is in access and I am trying to automate my application so that it will read from access and display calculated results in excel. Or I would like to know if someone knows how to automate excel so that if a number is entered, it will connect to access, get the data, and display a calculation back in excel.

Any help will be appreciated greatly. Thanks.

Almost all facilities in Excel are also available in Access - so it might be overcomplicating the issue by trying to establish some kind of link between Excel and Access.

A number is entered in Access, it will do the calculation there, and if necessary in Excel - export.

If you dont know Access - dont worry its easy!

Use Microsoft Query (if it is installed), Go through Data, and then get External Data. You can update the info through a query.
Good Luck!

I would like to modify the results of a Excel TableQuery and then update the original Access database. Is this possible and what would be the best way to go about it?
