Excel 97-Disk is full

I have 2 users who are having a problem saving Excel worksheets. They are both operating with Windows '98 and Excel 97. When they try to save the document, they get the error message: Disk is full.
They aren't saving to a disk, they are saving to the hard drive and they have plenty of available space.
Any ideas??

Possibly corrupted. Have you tried copying all the data to a new file/sheet and then saving it? joegz
