Excel 97 and NT 4 Opening and closing

I am having a problem with Excel 97 files opening and saving whilst on an NT 4 machine.<br>The files are VERY slow.<br>Does anyone know of this bug and how to solve the speed issue. Problem isn't apparent on Windows 95.<br>Thanks<br>Nigel

Just as a thought, check the file sharing setup. You may find that the file thinks that loads of people are editing it. Tools, Share Workbook, Remove any users that are not yourself (!).<br><br>This cures slows opening and saving.
