My accounting system is web based. My users will often use the "page - Edit With Microsoft Excel" option of IE. This has worked fine for many years, however we've recently upgraded a few of our users to Office 2010. Now, when you go to "Page" - "Edit with Microsoft Excel", if Excel is open, you get an "Unexpected Error Has Occured" message. If Excel is closed and you do the same thing, the data imports correctly and everything works ok. It seems to be specific to Windows XP computers with Office 2010. I've been able to repeat the results on 3 different computers under 5 different profiles (one of which is a Domain Administrator) so it's not a permissions error.
Obviously the work around is to close Excel before importing the data, but when a good % of those peoples day is spent in Excel, telling them that they will have to close Excel before they can input data isn't going to go over well.
Has anyone else had this issue and found a way to make it work?
