Good afternoon. I have this weird problem where if I type in a cell it displays on the screen as struckthrough but if I select the Format Cells:Font from the ribbon the Strikethrough box is blank. If I close this but click in the formula bar then the strikethrough box is checked. If I highlight all the text in the formula bar I can remove the strikethrough but it comes back with a vengance as soon as I click the tick or click in another cell. As far as I can see there's no code sitting behind this worksheet that would account for this behaviour. There seems to be no reason that I can see why this should be. The only other point is that if I populate these rows using VBA they appear perfectly normal and if I subsequently overtype then it remains un-struckthrough.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Depending upon the complexity of the formatting otherwise, what about copying everything on that sheet, then go to a new sheet, select paste special - values?

Ah, yes. It's to do with checking the date of the date input column - C. If it's more than two years ago

=TODAY()-$C10>=730

then it will format the whole row will be in strikethrough.

It doesn't seem to be logical though as it is only applied to rows 10 to 16 but doesn't appear to relate to each row.

At least I've found the answer.

Many thanks,

Change your table to a Structured Table

Apply the CF to the appropriate column(s) for ALL rows in the table.

As the table rows expand or contract, the CF will track with every table row!

Hi Skip, I'm not really sure how to go about that - I have tried Google. The rows (10 and down) are part of a named range which appears to expand when new data are added. The original author must have intended that after two years had elapsed (as tested in each row of Column "C") the evidence (of training) would have become out-of-date therefore formatting the cells of each row as strikethrough.
