I am creating a chart but only want certain data cells used. Example, Column A is the description, Column B is the number.

Description Total
Traps 5
Fittings 2
RF Leakage 10
Address 4
Messenger 3

I want the data in A2, B2, A3, B3, A4, B4, in the chart. Unfortunately when I try choosing the data, I don't get the descriptions along the X axis. I do get the totals along the Y axis.

I have tried using CTRL and SHIFT to choose the data fields required, but cannot get the desired results.

Please help.

Thank you!!!

hi,

right-click in the chart and select Select Data.

EDIT the Category axis to include the appropriate range.

Skip,

I tried that. Still not getting the results I need.

*F-fittings/Weather protection 10
Ports Terminated (Locking type)
*Proper Cable type & size 3
Clean-up @ tap location
Traps (add or remove per systems ops)
*Address Tags 2
*Service Tags 2

I just want the above with the (*) to be charted in a simple bar graph. By choosing these 4 pieces of data, I will get the bars, but not the descriptions listed in the x-axis. I will get a legend. But these charts will not be printed in color. So black/grey charts will be difficult to understand.

Thank you again for any assistance.

I am TOTALLY Confused!!!

Your FIRST example and SECOND example have ABSOLUTELY NOT RELATIONSHIP!!!

Please be CLEAR, CONCISE, COMPLET & CONGRUENT.
