Office 2007 on XP machine. Clicking on the X, Alt-F4, Office button...nothing closes Excel except Task Manager. Tried Office uninstall/reinstall, Uninstall, custom Excel install, Office 2007 repair. Nothing worked. Found nothing useful on Google.

Nevermind. I found my solution.

Would you mind share your solution?
Somebody else may benefit.

Have fun.

Well, I did not know that Autonomy Worksite integration was involved. I disabled the add-in and that did it. I re-enabled it and Excel still closed fine. Seems the add-in was sticking things up. I'm new here and searched for a way to cancel my original thread, but I did not see an option.

hi,

Tek-Tips is not just a "get a solution" site, but it is also a "share a solution" site.

So it would be to everyone's benefit and to your credit, to share what you have discovered with all.
