Hi all,

I have a Shared workbook that has worked fine for a while, but has now starting exhibiting some strange behaviour ... sometimes if you change the contents of a cell, and save the workbook, the change actually gets applied to a different cell. I know this sounds impossible, but I've had it happen to me, and not just to the users, and the History showed that I changed a different cell to what I actually changed.

The misalignment is vertical ... i.e. the cell changes are occurring in the right column, but the wrong row.

Does anyone have any previous experience of this happening?

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

This has now happened to another workbook. As you may have guessed the users are not too happy.

Cheers, Glenn.

I've now made one of the Shared workbooks exclusive in order to prevent this happening again. Unfortunately the other one is part of a process that needs to have Shared access, and so this is still vulnerable to this error.

I've searched the web for information on this to no avail, so if anyone out there has any information I'd appreciate it.

Cheers, Glenn.
