In Excel 2003 if I want to review a Pivot Table, I simply select any cell in the Pivot Table, hit the Pivot Table toolbar and select the Wizard. Then I can maneuver through the Wizard and see things the the source of the pivot table. I guess that is my real issue...

How do I determine the source of a Pivot Table in Excel 2007? I would also like to know how to get back in the wizard but things work in 2007 that should have been in 2003 like double clicking column headers to modify aggregate functions.

I see with the cursor in the Pivot Table, ALt+D or the Options tab or the pseudo tab up top marked pivot table tools. [blush]

I'm just not a visual person. If I was that would have flew up smacked me in the head when I was looking for it.

Thanks skip, I'd never be able to deal with the crayon database with out you. [tongue]

Using the 2003 keyboard shortcut that Skip mentions is a great trick to pull up the old-style wizard. This is especially helpful if you want to use multiple consolidation ranges for your table source.

But to use 2007's native functionality you start by clicking on any cell in the Pivot Table (PT). When clicking into and out of the PT you'll see that two new ribbons become available when you're in the PT. There's a colored tab above them that says PivotTable Tools. The two ribbons are labeled Options and Design. Clicking on the colored PivotTable Tools tab itself takes you to the Options ribbon.

Once there, you have several options that were not as easily accessed in 2003 including
Data > Change Data Source
Show/hide > Field List (which brings up a bar on the right showing you the design components available for your PT.

The Design ribbon offers several formatting options.

I'm barely an Excel User at all... I've been learning it more and only playing around with Pivot Tables the last 4 months or so. I don't know many of the KB shortcuts.

Anyways, I love the tagline...
