Ok I have 8 cells and each cell contains a 1 or a 0
binary, right. the column is "H" in my example and the starting cell is 23
likes so
1 <<<< so this is in H23
0 H24
0
1
0
etc
then I want to bring those into one string in one cell.
10010 etc
if I put this in the cell I28 for example
=H23&H24&H25&H26
I get 1001
But if I put anymore that 4 cells strung together it does not read the contents anymore but makes the cell show the formula like so.
=H23&H24&H25&H26&H27&H28&H29 etc
any ideas how I make it work for more than 4 cells?
I tried both Plus =H24+H25... and Amersand =H24&H25...
same result.

Hi,
But if I put anymore that 4 cells strung together it does not read the contents anymore but makes the cell show the formula like so.
=H23&H24&H25&H26&H27&H28&H29 etc
Really?

Try again! Format the cell GENERAL.

Ampersand works fine - with four arguments or 20... up to several thousand characters.

Press [Ctrl] + [`] (that's the same key that has a tilde (~) at the top left of the keyboard, to the left of the [1]). That's the keyboard shortcut key to display formulas.
